Sannadhi

Privacy Policy

This is the Privacy Policy as shown in the Sannadhi app (version 1.1.0). To delete your account, use Settings → Delete Account in the app, or request deletion without the app.

1. About this Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Sannadhi collects, why, and how it is handled. It applies to the Sannadhi Android app during its Closed Beta. Sannadhi is built for Hindu devotees to find temples, follow the Panchang calendar, preserve family deity (Kula Devata) traditions, and take part in temple and community life.

Sannadhi does not run advertising, does not use analytics or tracking software of any kind, and does not sell personal data. This is a product commitment, not a marketing claim — you can verify it yourself: the app ships with no analytics, advertising, or tracking software of any kind.

2. How You Sign In

Sannadhi uses Google Sign-In to create and access your account. When you sign in, Google shares your name, email address, and profile photo with Sannadhi through our authentication provider, Supabase. Sannadhi does not receive or store your Google password.

3. Phone Number (Temple Representative Verification Only)

A temple's Pujari or representative is not self-registered — they are invited by the person who submitted the temple. If you accept such an invitation, we collect your mobile number and send a one-time verification code to it through our SMS provider, 2Factor.in, as a simple check that the number is really yours. This phone number is used only for this verification step — it is not used for signing in to Sannadhi, which is always done with Google.

4. Birth & Astrology Details (Optional)

Sannadhi lets you optionally add your birth date, birth time, and birthplace, for your own reference and for possible future personalized features. This information is not currently used to change your Panchang or any other content you see. It is sensitive, and we only collect it with your explicit, separate consent at the point you choose to provide it. You can decline to provide it, and it is never required to use the rest of the app. Consent for this data is separate from, and does not double as, your general acceptance of this Privacy Policy.

5. Temple Representative Verification Documents

If you accept an invitation to become a temple's verified Pujari or representative, Sannadhi collects a selfie photograph taken live using your device camera, a government-issued ID, and at least one document showing your connection to the temple (such as a priest certificate, an appointment letter, or a temple ID card), to let a moderator verify your identity and your connection to that temple. These are stored in access-restricted Supabase Storage and are visible only to you and to authorized Sannadhi reviewers.

6. Location

Sannadhi asks for your device's foreground location — meaning only while you are actively using the app — to show you temples and events near you. Sannadhi does not request or use background location, and does not track your location when the app is closed or not in use. You can deny this permission and still use the rest of the app; features that depend on your location (like "temples near you") simply will not be able to use your position.

7. Content You Create

Sannadhi lets you contribute to a shared community record of temples and practices. This includes: suggesting a temple that is missing from Sannadhi (name, deity, location, and any notes you add); confirming or reporting an issue with an existing temple listing; family deity (Kula Devata) group information you or your family create, including ancestor memories and family ritual records; and reports you file about content or other users, which may include a photo you choose to attach as evidence. This content may be visible to other devotees, to temple administrators, or to Sannadhi moderators, depending on where it appears in the app.

8. Information You Provide About Other People

Some features let you share information about people other than yourself. If you record a memory of a family ancestor in a Kula Devata group, the name and details you write about that person are stored as part of that group's shared record. If you sponsor an Annadhanam (community meal) event, the sponsor name and phone number you provide — your own or someone else's, if you are sponsoring on their behalf — are shown publicly on that event. If you suggest a temple that is missing from Sannadhi, you may be asked to name a person responsible for that temple (such as a priest or administrator) and provide a phone number and preferred language for our moderation team to reach them. That person's name, phone number and language are visible only to Sannadhi moderators reviewing the submission — never to other devotees and never published — and are permanently deleted if the submission is not approved. You are responsible for having the right to share information about another person through these features.

9. Notifications

Sannadhi sends in-app and push notifications about things like festival reminders and updates relevant to you. Push notifications are delivered through the Expo Push Notification Service, which requires your device's push token. You can control which notifications you receive in Settings.

10. What We Do Not Do

Sannadhi does not use analytics software, advertising networks, or third-party tracking of any kind, and does not use or share any advertising identifier. We do not sell your personal data to anyone.

11. Who We Share Information With

Sannadhi shares information only with the service providers needed to run the app, and only for that purpose:

We do not share your information with advertisers, data brokers, or any other party for their own marketing purposes.

12. Data Storage Region & Cross-Border Transfer

Sannadhi's primary data store is hosted in Supabase's ap-south-1 (Mumbai, India) region. Some of our service providers — including Google and Expo — operate infrastructure outside India, so limited information (such as sign-in and push-notification data) may be processed outside India as part of using those services.

13. How Long We Keep Information

We keep different kinds of information for different lengths of time, depending on what it is and why we collected it:

When you delete your account, it is hidden immediately and enters a 30-day recovery window. Signing in alone does not restore it — you must sign in and actively cancel the deletion in Settings. After the window closes, your account and its associated data become eligible for permanent erasure.

14. Your Rights and Choices

You can review and correct your profile information from within the app at any time. You can delete your account from Settings; deletion hides your account immediately and begins a 30-day recovery window. Signing back in alone does not restore it — you must sign in and then actively cancel the deletion in Settings. After the window closes, your account becomes eligible for permanent erasure. You can also request deletion without using the app, through an out-of-app request process that verifies you are the account owner before taking any action. To request a copy of your data, ask a correction, or ask any question about your rights, contact us at support@sannadhi.in. During Closed Beta these requests are handled directly by our team; we aim to respond within a reasonable time and will confirm a specific timeframe when we reply.

Once your account becomes eligible for permanent erasure, your personal data is erased. Community contributions you made (such as a temple you helped verify) are preserved for community continuity, with your personal identity removed or anonymized rather than the contribution being deleted. Records we are required to keep for governance or legal reasons (such as audit logs) are retained with your identity anonymized.

15. Age Requirement

You must be at least 18 years old to create a Sannadhi account. We do not knowingly allow account creation by anyone under 18 during Closed Beta.

16. Security

Sannadhi restricts access to your data using row-level security rules enforced by our database provider, so that, by default, only you can access your own account data, and administrative access is limited to authorized staff. Data sent between your device and our servers is encrypted in transit. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we continue to improve these protections.

17. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Sannadhi changes. Each version has an effective date and version number shown at the top of this document. If a change is material, you will be asked to review and accept the updated policy the next time you use the app.
